Wefoco organisation
WEFOCO consists of young people in Shianda village, who want to give their input to develop their community. All the members of WEFOCO are volunteers without any payment, some of them are „full time volunteers“. The members are motivated by the positive outcome of WEFOCO activities and by the desire to improve the lives of their village people.

Wefoco aims:
- to promote various aspects of the community development
- to improve social ecosystem of their communities
- to advocate for an HIV and AIDS free society
- to empower communities on economic development progress that change most lives of community members who live under poverty line
- to identify the needy and orphaned children and link them to the necessary support
Wefoco current activities
- capacity building through seminars, workshops, awareness and education
- HIV counseling and testing
- home and school visits of vulnerable children
- home based care of HIV/AIDS infected and affected people, nutritional program and education, human rights advocacy and lobbying
- agricultural programs: crop, animal and poultry farming
Wefoco director and one of the founders, Esther Naliaka Mumia volunteers for the organisation every day. She is motivated to continue her work for many years. She is an educated, smart and hard-working woman, who has continued her work in spite of many challenges. „This is my village and my people, why should I go anywhere else? I want to help them“
