Computer course

A practical Computer and Internet Basics course for teachers was held from December 7th to 14th. The following topics were covered:

1. Hardware – computer, display (screen), keyboard, mouse. Connecting power, switching on/shutting down. Software (programs) – Windows „Start“-menu, desktop icons, folders.
2. Typing in Microsoft Office, creating/saving/opening a document, adding styles, fonts.
3. Connecting to the Internet by a 3G-network modem (Safaricom). Browsing the Internet (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome).
4. Finding information by relevant keywords using an Internet search engine (Google).
5. Sending and receiving e-mails (Yahoo, Gmail).
6. Copying files from a camera to computer.
7. Attaching files (documents) to an e-mail.

The course was part of the school link programme.
