  3. How long time you volunteered in Shianda?
I was a volunteer in Shianda for 3 days.
  4. Why did you decide to go to Kenya?
I decided to go to Kenya because my friend Janika invited me to come there and it seemed to be very interesting idea to go there.
  5. Why did you decide to volunteer with WEFOCO?
I was a volunteer in WEFOCO because it was so interesting to visit different households in Shianda and see how people are living. I really liked to find out some children who need some help and support. Afterwards I felt that I really did something good and useful. This feeling made me so happy.
  6. What do you think about the work that is being done by WEFOCO?
WEFOCO is a great organisation that wants to make the world a better place to live. I’m so happy about there are some people that care and try to help people that really need a support.
  7. What were your tasks?
My task was to visit households in Shitoto village and find out children that need some support to go to school.
  8. What did you like most about volunteering?
It’s so hard to say what did I like to most about volunteering. Everything was new for me and so interesting. Even walking on the street was an awsome experience. One thing that shoked me the most was to see how one family was sleeping on the clayfloor and they just had thin sheets. They didn’t have any furniture because couple of months ago they had a fire in their house. I gave as a gift some thick wool blanckets to them so they could sleep more softly and warmly.
  9. What was suprising?
Every day in Kenya was suprising.
  10. What would you have liked to know before coming?
I knew almost nothing and it was good enough.
  11. What are the difficulties that the volunteers should prepare themselves for?
If you think in a right way then you have no difficulties.
  12. Tell about your favorite experience from Kenya.
My favourite experience in Kenya was to visit orphan house; to see how children are living in there, how they study and what they are doing. I met one man in there who had a great dream: to build his own orphan house and take care of children. I’m gonna support his dream.
  13. Do you miss something?
I miss Kenya because it was so special.
  14. Any other comments:)
All the little things you do will end up coming back to you.
